Good intentions, fishy crab, and mystery poo...

That seems to sum up the past couple of weeks.
I decided that a few times a week I am going to get up at 7am with Cam and go work out on my elliptical trainer before the girls wake up. Well my first day was last Monday...it's always a huge struggle to get out of bed in the morning. I've never been a morning person, but the idea of having a couple hours to myself inspired me. So I ever so quietly tiptoed to the bathroom, and as I was in the hall, I could hear Leah already babbling away. My heart sunk. She never wakes up before 9am! Anyway I took her with me and she lasted pretty good sitting and playing with toys. To sum up this story, she has since got up between 7-8am everyday! Seems to be her new schedule. I am definitely not going to get up at 6am, so I'll just enjoy her company. :)

One day last week I decided to buy Cam and myself a little treat. I was at Price Smart and the deli had some freshly made crab and cream cheese stuffed mushrooms. They looked delicious.
As soon as I opened the package I thought it smelled kind of bad. But I figured I was just being paranoid. I baked them until the cream cheese was nice and gooey. My first bite wasn't very good. I said to Cam, "Want to try some rotten fishy crab stuffed mushrooms?" I was kind of joking, but it just tasted like the smell of fish. I don't know what I was thinking but I took a 2ND one, and I held my breath so that I couldn't taste it go down. Before I knew it I could hear Cam running to the bathroom gagging and spewing it into the toilet. Well, within the hour I felt pretty sick. I never did throw up, but it gave me diarrhea and I had an awful sleep because my stomach was in pain. Lesson learned. Trust my nose.

Cam's migraines have been really bad again lately. He was getting at least 1 everyday. He had a Dr appt. last week and got put on some prevention medication. Seems to be working so far. He's also booked in for a CT scan next week, just to rule out any major problems.

Kelsey is in swimming lessons. We had our first one on Saturday. It's a very beginner class which will just get her to enjoy the water. It's only a 1/2 hour class, and it took her about 20 minute to quit being extremely shy and participate. I think she's looking forward to the next one though.

Thankfully we've been having warmer weather and I can leave Licks outside. We still don't have a gate though, so I'm always just a little stressed that she'll run away. She likes to go poo down in our basement, and in the girls bedrooms. Really makes me mad when I smell poo and I can't find it. Today she peed on Kelsey's Aquadoodle mat which also got her puzzle wet, and her LeapPad. She's really getting into stuff now too. Yesterday when I put her outside she tore apart 2 garbage bags of Christmas lights that I had just taken down. The lights were dragged to different parts of the yard. She also likes to drag my shoes and boots downstairs and chew on them. I'm learning quickly that I have to be in the habit of putting everything away and out of her reach. I have to say that she does respond to discipline really well. And she gets quite timid if I yell...won't even come to me. So we always have to keep a gentle voice.

Just a tip-when we got Prince we loaded up on chew toys and bones from the dollar store and he hasn't chewed a lot of our things.

I've learned to rely on my nose as well. The same thing happend to me w/ Chicken. It smelled a little odd, but the date was fine, so I cooked it thinking the smell would go away. Nope, that was the only meal I've had to throw out.
At least w/ Licks, she is quiet. I can't hadn't Lady Diego very often because she is constantly wineing. Drives me up the wall!:)

We also bought some dogs toys and a nylo bone for chewing and never lost any shoes to the dogs. Both dogs got really good about knowing what things are theirs too. I always think it's a good thing puppy's are cute when they cause such trouble.
