We're so excited that Leah has finally started smiling. However, she didn't give her first smiles to me or Cam, or even Kelsey. The lucky recipient was Uncle Jeff. It must've been his high pitched squeaky noise that only he can make! Then a few minutes later she was smiling for Kristy too! As soon as they went home Cam & I tried to make her smile. We sounded so dumb trying to duplicate Jeff's noises, and nothing worked. I only got my first smiles from her today. It was very gratifying.
Cam spent the whole weekend trying to get our driveway ready for concrete. He had bad luck. The 3 guys he had lined up to help all cancelled, so he was left alone. Plus he ran into problems. There's a bunch of really deep soft spots that he had to get rid of and then refill with gravel. Jeff and my dad helped on Sunday. Just when they thought they were done dealing with the mucky parts, Cam found another big spot to deal with. Dad and Jeff were gone by this point and it was 10pm. So he was very disappointed that he didn't get near as much done as he had hoped.
We had a gorgeous weekend here. I took the girls to a birthday party on Saturday. It was so hot. Kelsey had a great time playing outside.
I think we're getting very close to being done potty training (knock on wood). The last few days she's been wanting to use the toilet instead of the potty as well, so I'm pleased.
Last night Kristy put on a baby shower for me at her house. It was very nice, and I got spoiled with many wonderful gifts. I have another shower on Thursday. I feel so lucky. I didn't expect any showers for my second baby!
Bon
