Cam and I are excited. We bought a minivan last week! Looking back, who knew we'd ever be excited about this usually dreaded moment? But it is just so nice. I love driving it, and it is so easy to get Kelsey in and out of her seat without bending down into the car. Now we have to try and sell our car. Cam has a little bit of work to do on it beforehand, but I hope it all happens quickly.
We had a very busy week last week. There was the Christmas Potluck for our Bible study group at our house on Tuesday night. On Thurs we went to my niece's Christmas concert at her school which was cute, but it was also just a gong show of loud, excited children running and yelling everywhere!
I threw a little birthday party for Ethan on Saturday. Just got together with some cousins and friends to go swimming, and then came back for cake and presents afterwards. Thankfully my mom helped and baked the cake because I had 2 other desserts to make for other dinners! The kids all had a good time swimming. Cam and one of the other dad's got into a fun little diving competition.
Last night we had our church Christmas Banquet. The food was delicious. And here we are... approaching Christmas Day rapidly. I'm so excited. We're still debating what to do for Christmas Day--we've been asked to 2 different dinners. Cam's sister has invited us to her husband's family dinner because we were going to be alone that day. We told her "yes", but now 2 couples that are really good friends of ours are getting together. We don't want to offend anyone.
I've been having some insomnia lately. I've always had trouble sleeping as long as I can remember, but it's been pretty good the past year or so, since I've started to enjoy reading. I usually read before bed and I fall asleep almost instantly. But that's not working anymore. I find myself reading and reading, and then I look at the clock and it's 1:30am and I start to stress a bit because I wish I was sleeping. When Cam's alarm goes off at 5am I'm up again too. It takes me about 2 hours to go back to sleep. Thankfully Kelsey has been sleeping in until 9-9:30ish, I still feel rested.
Kelsey is talking so much lately. It's just amazing how fast they change. She loves to ask "Ha hap-pan?" ( What happened) and when she gets excited she shouts "Woo hoo!". She's also putting little sentences together like "Where'd it go?" "There it is!". Lots of fun. I think she'll really enjoy Christmas this year.
