Enough cold already!

We just got back from taking the youth group to "Youth Alert" in Sexsmith, AB. It was our first time going on a trip and it was great! Sid Koop was the guest speaker and I really enjoyed his teaching. One of the highlghts of my trip was having open q & a time with him and other youth leaders. It was also a good time of getting closer to some of the girls.
The weekend was FREEZING. On Saturday none of our vehicles would start. A kind man boosted our van, and from their we boosted the other 2 vehicles.

2 weeks ago today our room and board students arrived from Lagos, Nigeria! The time has already been a blur. We've got 2 boys, Patrick and Tope, and a girl, Dami. The boys stay downstairs, and Dami is in Kelsey's old room. I had to put Kelsey and Leah together in a bunkbed which I was quite stressed about, but they both love it.
They've already graduated in Nigeria, but they're completing their grade 12 in Canada so that they can go to college/university here. It's called the Foundation Program. Coming to FSJ has got to be the worst culture shock.
Dami's very helpful with cooking and cleaning. The boys even had their first experience shovelling our driveway last week. They offered to do it because school was out cuz of snow day. I was giggling to myself because they came in about 3 times to warm up and add more clothing.
They're going to be here until the end of next January, which I'm sure is going to be an absolute joy.

Tomorrow I'm having a ladies supper for the women from church. I'm looking forward to it. My project today is to sort all the kids toys and hopefully send a couple bags full to the Salvation Army. Our basement is a constant mess of toys that never get touched.

That is really great that you have those kids staying with you. What a neat program to get involved in. I'm sure the girls are going to enjoy having Dami, Tope and Parick around. :)
