Gearing up for the race

This summer is just flying by! I've been enjoying it so much. I've had lots of time to relax out on our deck and tan and read...we've been blessed with many hot days.

Cam is enjoying his new job. There are some nice perks like he gets his boots and gloves etc. paid for, and he gets an hour for lunch so he always comes home and joins the girls and I. I love that. He will be getting a company truck too within the next few weeks. I'm really excited about that because it's been complicated trying to share the vehicle some days.

Leah finally started walking! 14 1/2 months when she took her first steps. Over the last 10 days or so she has already improved so much! She still crawls a lot though because it's faster. She also says quite a few words. She says kitty, Get down, uh-oh, whassat?, baby, no, hi, up, Kelsey... little words like that.

My mind is kind of consumed with the Death Race lately. The race is this coming Saturday! I feel prepared, but I'm nervous at the same time. It's kind of scary not knowing exactly what to expect. 17km is the furthest I've ran, and my leg of the race is 19km, so I feel good about that. I'm praying that it won't be a hot day though....it's so much tougher running with the sun beating down on you. We're leaving on Thursday, we'll be camping until Sunday. It should be fun with the whole family there (except W &K of course). Miss you guys!
I wish there was a way to take pictures...I don't want to carry a camera and I certainly don't want to take off my pack during the race to look for my camera :) I'll see if I can figure something out. My leg of the race is described as one of the most beautiful so I'd like to show everyone.
My hubby should be home for lunch any minute so I better run! Wish me luck.
