I'm all alone this weekend and the kids are sleeping, so it seems like the perfect opportunity to blog.
Cam just left tonight on an elk hunting trip. Him and Aaron are floating down the Peace river in a canoe. Pam and I dropped them off in Hudson's Hope.

He got a lot done on the garage this week. Just about ready to put the shingles on the roof.

Last Thursday was our 4th anniversary. Cam totally forgot (even after making dinner plans the previous day). I was so offended. After arriving home an hour late, he came in the house and went straight downstairs and asked Josh (our renter) to help him on the garage. I immediately yelled down the stairs "We have plans!" He felt SO guilty. After a good cry, I gave him his gift and then he felt worse because he hadn't got me one. I decided to have a good attitude and not be pouty. We went to the "Uptown Grill" for supper. It was delicious. We had a really nice time.
The next day he came home from work with a gift for me--a new rifle! I was so shocked...not what I was expecting. I loved it, but then I freaked out when he told me how much it cost. I convinced him to return it because we don't need to be spending that much money right now, so instead he got me a really good quality kitchen knife set, which I also love! Here's the twist--turns out he couldn't return the gun until Monday..by that time we had changed our minds and decided to keep it. So he ended up spending an outrageous amount of money on me (cuz I'm certainly not returning the knives :) I figure that'll teach him not to forget our anniversary ever again! Is it just me that's sensitive about that kind of thing?

I'll post a bunch of pics from the last couple weeks...maybe tomorrow. I need to go to bed.

bonnie,

no it's not just you! josh and i had 2 weddings, so we kinda have 2 anniversaries. even if you set yourselft up like, "this one won't be a big deal" if he forgets or WORSE, if he remembers, but doesn't say anything (which happened to me) all of the sentimentality gets so blown up and that's when the waterworks start, guaranteed. :) sounds like he made it up real nice, though. by the way, had fun hanging with your mom the other day! did she tell you what she did instead of shaking the captains hand?
