My story

I'm still a little overwhelmed that I have my baby already. I would have been 38 weeks now--hard to believe there were still 2 more weeks...ugh. All I can say is that I'm so glad it's over!
I have no idea why I had her early. I went to bed that Friday night and started to read. I was having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions but I thought nothing of it because I had them all the time. I decided to start timing them and sure enough they were coming 6 min apart and they were getting a little painful. I convinced myself that it was just false labour and tried to sleep, but it kept getting worse. Then they were 4 min apart, and I noticed I was spotting abit. I woke Cam up and said maybe we should go do the hospital because I was only 35 1/2 weeks along.
Sure enough I was 4cm dilated! We were both prepared to be sent home, so this is when it really hit us that we were actually having the baby. Thankfully my labour went really fast. I went to the hospital at 4:30am and I had Leah 3 hours later.
She is such a great baby. She rarely cries. She eats every 3 hours and sleeps all the time. However, over the last couple of days she's been waking up a lot more, so that's nice. Kelsey is thrilled with her. The first week was really hard for Kelsey I think. She didn't sleep through the night and she was always fussy...poor girl. But now she loves Leah and always wants to hold her.

I feel great. At first I didn't feel ready because there was still a lot of stuff I wanted to do before she was born. But I'm realizing quickly that I'm able to do all that stuff, and it's easier because I'm not pregnant.

We've been having nice warm weather. Cam built me a garden today. He got some lumber and made a big box that's 1&1/2 feet tall so I don't even have to bend down so far!
I've gotta go, Kelsey's getting whiny for supper.
Bon

i'm curious...so now that you've had one naturally and one via c-section, which did you prefer? i'm glad she's a good baby for you. and keep posting those pics!

Hmm...tough question. I had a wonderful experience with my c-section, so I have nothing against them. My recovery was very quick. However I'd still have to say that a natural birth was a greater experience (even with the pain!). Next time, I think I'll try an epidural!
